Instrumentation Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

Perform technical tasks assigned by the Discipline Lead, related with design, verification or study activities. Interface with other Project Specialists and Designers. Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the Company.

 

Professional Skills

1) Reviews Client's technical documentation and requirements. 2) Controls of subcontracted discipline engineering documents. 3) Defines engineering requirements. 4) Prepares the technical documentation for instrumentation and systems requisitions and performs the technical evaluations. 5) Provides technical support to Project group. 6) Optimises instrument systems ensuring minimal cost and simplification in compliance with the required performance. 7) Prepares specifications for instruments, systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and installation. 8) Prepares functional analysis (control, ESD, F&G). 9) Implements instrument detail design on P&ID's. 10) Prepares instrument data sheets and loop diagrams. 11) Prepares instrument material take-off. 12) Implements detail engineering activities (layouts, routings, supports...). 13) Performs the F.A.T.

Mission Tasks

Plan, co-ordinate and control the development of INS Engineering for a Project activities performed inside or outside the Company in accordance with project/client requirements. Assure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in-out information flow.

 

Professional Skills

Tender and job start-up 1) Acquires and understands the Project goals from Contract, specific documentation and the kick-off meeting. 2) Contributs to define the Discipline list of activities, list of deliverables, time schedule, control of Discipline activities in accordance with Contract requirements. 3) Produces a detailed list of in / out critical information to be closely monitored by PEM for a correct course of the project. 4) Produces the methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines. 5) Prepares and performs the Instrumentation design review. Job progress and completion 1) Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations. 2) Takes any corrective action within the Specialists group necessary for this purpose or reports to PEM for more extensive problems. 3) Calculates and monitors performance indicators in accordance with the technical instruction. 4) Is the technical reference for Specialists and Designers and ensures the participation to the interdisciplinary activities. 5) Monitors and reports actual progress / check for Discipline activities, including control of men-hours and delivered documents; particular care is required for sub-contracted activities. 6) Coordinates the evaluation of the design changes to the original scope of work and verifies the implementation of those approved. 7) Is aware and keeps track of all interface ( in / out ) information. 8) Checks and signs all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings, etc. 9) Attends to internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings. 10) Provides technical support to Project group. 11) Reports to the Project staff and to the Client whenever required. 12) Prepares the feedback dossier.
