Mission Tasks

Perform technical tasks assigned by the Safety and Environment Lead, related with design, verification or study activities. Interface with other Project Specialists. Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the Company.

 

Professional Skills

1) Reviews Contractual documents (Contractual Scope of Work, Responsibility Matrix, BoD, Project Technical specifications, Company standards); 2) Produces / Maintains technical documentation in its field of activity; 3) Participates to interdiscipline check of documents for its field of activity; 4) According its field of activity tasks may be as follow: - performs the hazard identification and consequence evaluation exercises; - produces the safety studies (EER, dropped object, flare radiation...); - prepares the hazardous area classification drawings; - prepares the fire and gas matrix; - prepares fire and gas, safety appliance locations and escape routes drawings; - prepares the specification of fire protection and fire detection systems; - prepares / coordinates the documentation package for safety reviews (HAZID, FIREPRAN, HAZOP, SIL...); - produces safety review reports; - develops the design of fire protection and fire detection systems; - develops the design of EER system; - performs / assists to the hydraulic studies of fire water based systems; - prepares the data sheets and the requisitions and perform Bid evaluations for the fire protection equipment and the life-saving appliances; - assists to the definition of the lay-out; - performs the risks analysis and/or reliability studies; - performs the noise control activities; 5) Verifies the correct implementation of the HSE aspects in the design and vendors documentation through audits and reviews. The same function of co-ordination and verification is performed also when the design activities are contracted to a sub-contractor.

Mission Tasks

Plan, co-ordinate and control the development of Safety and Environment Engineering for a Project activities performed inside or outside the Company in accordance with project/client requirements. Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in-out information flow.

 

Professional Skills

Ensures the Safety and Environment engineering support to different projects Tender and job start-up: 1) Acquires and understands the Project goals from Contract, specific documentation and the kick-off meeting; 2) Sets up the procedure for the control of Discipline activities; 3) Contributes to define the Discipline list of activities, list of deliverables and time schedule in accordance with Contract requirements; 4) Produces a detailed list of in / out critical information to be closely monitored by PEM for a correct course of the project; 5) Produces the methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines; 10) Assists the Discipline Coordinator in the Project team of Specialists set up and in verifying the effectiveness of working instruments; 11) Staffs the safety engineering group and organism/schedule all necessary safety engineering activities in order to fulfill project schedule and milestones; Project Execution and Job progress and completion: 1) Assures the technical management of the safety discipline; 2) Assures the follow-up activities to monitor the resolution of identified safety issues in the course of the design development; 3) Performs or co-ordinates the HAZOP sessions; 4) Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations; 5) Takes any corrective action within the Specialists group necessary for this purpose or report to PEM for more extensive problems; 6) Is the technical reference for Specialists and Designers and ensure the participation to the interdisciplinary activities; 7) Monitors and reports actual progress / check for Discipline activities, including control of men-hours and delivered documents; particular care is required for sub-contracted activities; 8) Coordinates the evaluation of the design changes to the original scope of work and verifies the implementation of those approved; 9) Is aware and keep track of all interface ( in / out ) information; 10) Checks and signs all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings, etc; 11) Attends to internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings; 12) Provides technical support to Project group; 13) Produces the final safety discipline REX report; 14) Provides technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction;
