Cathodic Protection Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

Design Integrated CP systems (and associated monitoring) for oil/LNG equipments, onshore and offshore and organise the work of personnel assigned to cathodic protection site operations, ensuring that approved specifications/procedures are complied with and that productivity is optimised, whilst guaranteeing compliance with safety procedures.

 

Professional Skills

Definition of Calculation methodology/ Protection method definition :sacrificial or impressed insulated or not/ - Definition of Material and determine Environmental conditions - Determination of the sacrificial anode quantities / location / material (Al /Zn / Mg) for the design life of the structure. - Determination of the impressed current system size regarding the DC source and it’s associated anode groundbed - Issuing of Bid Doc for Procurment use. - Establishing bidder lists, evaluating and pre-qualifying vendors, bid assessments, audits, reviewing supplier’s documentation for compliance with client /international specifications /rules - Assistance during MPQT, review for approval of subcontractor documentation - Commissioning and start up operation. - Management of CP site survey subcontractor on site

 
 

Corrosion Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

The Corrosion Engineer is the person that follows anti corrosion activities through all its phases.

 

Professional Skills

- Collection and analysis of the project technical specifications issued by the Oil /Gas Company and International Standards Bodies etc. (EN, ISO). - liasing continuously with major material/equipment suppliers regarding the latest developments in technologies. - definition of the anticorrosion strategy using CP/ COATING / PAINTING / CHEMICAL TREATMENT/ CRA (corrosion resistant alloy) in order to optimise quality and costs. - issuing of engineering corrosion phylosophy document including pipeline and Topside equipment review. Interface with Equipment / Electrical/ Instrumental engineering disciplines - transfert of the corrosion strategy to the dicipline responsible of CP / Painting and Coating design. - design of the chemical treatement and CRA. - corrosion faillure analysis upon Project/ Assets request. - interfacing with Installation Engineering Functions to solve the anti-corrosion problems of different projects. - definition of laboratoris experimental work in corrosion field.

 
 

Material Coordinator

 

Mission Tasks

Coordination and optimization of the Material activities of the project through all its phases and to define global anticorrosion strategies using an optimized combination within anticorrosion resistant material, chemical treatment, painting and coatings, cathodic protection, corrosion allowances, equipment design

 

Professional Skills

- Definition of global anticorrosion strategies using an optimized combination within anticorrosion resistant material, chemical treatment, painting and coatings, cathodic protection, corrosion allowances, equipment design - selection of the most suitable anticorrosion method using the 4 main tools of protection : material selection / Painting and coating / Chemical treatments / Cathodic protection - identification of material failure mechanisms, considering the possible corrosion mechanisms : galvanic , pitting, cavitations, CO2/H2S, HIC , microbial… - selection of the right CRA material (alloy, composite…) - definition of a safe design life for each material - evaluation of erosion allowances - definition of inhibition philosophy regarding CO2/H2S corrosion, O2 removal & control, presence of bacteria in Oil and Gas fluids, cooling water treatment, seawater injection and seawater cooling systems - evaluation of Inhibitor efficiency Testing - selection of chemicals treatment for hydrotests purpose - selection of biocides / inhibitor for enclosed flooded spaces - selection of suitable monitoring equipment for various Oil and Gas process vessels and pipelines : coupons / probes (location)

 
 

Material Engineer

The Material Engineer is the person that follows material activities through all its phases.

 

Professional Skills

The Material Engineer has to: - issue all the documents related to the definition and production of components (pipe, fittings,etc.) needed for the construction of pipe lines, sea lines, etc. - support procurement and commercial office with technical analysis during project bid phase - conduct material failure analysis - perform inspection site survey - support procurement department to establish bidder lists, evaluating and prequalifying vendors, bid assessments, audits, reviewing supplier’s documentation for compliance with client /international specifications /rules for inhibition and corrosion monitoring - assist MPQT, review/comment subcontractor documentation - report for validation to his technical group leader - define the inspection plan

 
 

Painting and Coating Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

The Painting/coating Engineer is the person that follows painting and coating activities in all its phases.

 

Professional Skills

- Selection of the most suitable anticorrosion coating proposed by our suppliers according to condition used and application (surface preparation, roughness, temperature, thermal shock and cycling, fluid chemical agressivity…) - definition of Inspection plan - proposal of painting system, specification of the duration, requirement and performances levels to ensure the properties of the coat - selection of the FJC type to optimised the production on SAIPEM barges - determination of the cycle time for FJC application on SAIPEM Barges - Establishing bidder lists, evaluating and pre-qualifying vendors, bid assessments, audits, reviewing supplier’s documentation for compliance with client /international specifications /rules for inhibition and corrosion monitoring - assistance to MPQT, review of subcontractor documentation - issuing of coating failure investigation report - reporting for validation to his technical group leader
