Mission Tasks

The NDT Co-ordinator (NCO) co-ordinates and optimizes the NDT activities of the project through all its phases to reach the target quality and productivity.

 

Professional Skills

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a process which requires the co-ordination and supervision of operations in order to establish confidence of the quality of the inspection, the welding fabrication and its reliable performance in service. The tasks and responsibilities of NDT Co-ordinator are: - planning of NDT activities; - budgeting; - verification of NDT documentation; - preparation of project specifications; - auditing of NDT subcontractors; - co-ordination of NDT verifications/qualifications; - co-ordination of inspection activities; - monitor laybarge progress to identify opportunities for improvement. - preparation of close out reports; - review journals and technical papers for new NDT technology; - maintain contact with NDT equipment suppliers and consumable vendors to promote advances in NDT technology; - assist research and development programs.

The NDT Engineer is the person that follows NDT through all its phases.

 

Professional Skills

- To provide technical expertise on all NDT matters as required on projects; - Assist and support the NDT Co-ordinator or the project teams on all NDT matters; - Prepare NDT procedures for assigned project; - Review clients' specifications and scopes of work, examine pipe metallurgy and prepare detailed NDT procedures to achieve maximum productivity in accordance with specified quality; - Review subcontractors' tender documents and technical qualifications; - Assist QHSE Department on subcontractor assessments/audits; - Review and approve subcontractors' NDT submissions; - Ensure that records are maintained for all NDT activities to demonstrate achievement of client requirements; - Maintain departmental project NDT files so that information is readily available to other department members.
