Piping & Layout Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

Perform technical tasks assigned by the Safety and Environment Lead, related with design, verification or study activities. Interface with other Project Specialists, Designers and Draftmans. Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the Company.

 

Professional Skills

Ensures the Piping & Layout engineering support to different projects In the case of call for tender: 1) Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations. 2) Analyzes the technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) in order to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks. 3) Seeks as far as possible solutions which can bring overall savings to the project. 4) Estimates quantities or validates estimation done by other specialist of the team. 5) Checks all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings etc under his responsability. 6) Writes the Piping an Layout methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines (the technical roadmap for the discipline engineering activities). In the case of project execution: 1) Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations. 2) Analyzse the project technical documents in order to validate consistency between the budget, resources and means allocated for the work completion and the targets to be met. 3) Organizes the work of the team under his responsability. 4) Defines and follows-up the planning of resources mobilization. 5) Monitors and reports actual progress including 3D / check for Discipline activities, including control of men-hours and delivered documents; particular care is required for sub-contracted activities. 6) Writes the Piping and Layout methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines (the technical roadmap for the discipline engineering activities). 7) Controls the input data for the team activities and check/review all the documents issued by the team 8) Attends to internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings. 9) Provides technical support toProject group. 10) Provides technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities included in the scope of work. 11) Supervises the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations. 12) Informs on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk. 13) Feeds the Piping and Layout Department improvement system by reverting the lessons learned during the project.

 
 

Piping & Layout Lead

 

Mission Tasks

Plan, co-ordinate and control the development of Piping and Layout Engineering for a Project activities performed inside or outside the Company in accordance with project/client requirements. Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in-out information flow.

 

Professional Skills

Ensures the Equipment, Machinery & Packages engineering support to different projects Tender and job start-up 1) Acquires and understands the Project goals from Contract, specific documentation and the kick-off meeting. 2) Sets up the procedure for the control of Discipline activities. 3) Contributes to define the Discipline list of activities, list of deliverables and time schedule in accordance with Contract requirements. 4) Estimates quantities or validate estimation done by other specialist of the team. 5) Produces a detailed list of in / out critical information to be closely monitored by PEM for a correct course of the project. 6) Produces the methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines. 7) Assists the Discipline Coordinator in the Project team of Specialists set up and in verifying the effectiveness of working instruments. Project Execution and Job progress and completion 1) Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations. 2) Takes any corrective action within the Specialists group necessary for this purpose or report to PEM for more extensive problems. 3) Is the technical reference for Specialists and Designers and ensure the participation to the interdisciplinary activities. 4) Monitors and reports actual progress including 3D / check for Piping and Layout D activities, including control of men-hours and delivered documents; particular care is required for sub-contracted activities. 5) Coordinates the evaluation of the design changes to the original scope of work and verify the implementation of those approved. 6) Is aware and keeps track of all interface ( in / out ) information. 7) Checks and signs all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings, etc. 8) Attends to internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings. 9) Provides technical support to Project group. 10) Provides technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities included in the scope of work 11) Reports to the Project staff and to the Client whenever required. 12) Ensures follow-up activities.

 
 

Piping Flexibility Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

Under responsability of the project piping and layout lead and of head of piping flexibility section. The piping flexibility engineer has as a responsibility, within the framework of a contract to ensure the good design of the material of the networks of pipings as well at the technical level as on the level of the cost. Issue technical part of inquiries, bid analysis and order for piping supports components. Interface with other Piping specialists, project specialists and designers. Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the company.

 

Professional Skills

1) Is responsible for the quality, budget and respect of project schedule for piping flexibility analysis tasks 2) Reviews the Client’s technical documentation and requirements 3) Is responsible for the design of all piping supports components 4) Issues project piping flexibility specification and critical lines list 5) Performs calculations of critical piping networks 6) Issues loads to allow the design of pipe-rack and foundations 7) Issues technical part of requisitions for all piping supports components required by flexibility analysis calls for tender 8) Issues technical bid evaluation for all piping supports components offers 9) Issues technical part of requisitions for all piping supports components purchase orders 10) Reviews and approve vendors documents 11) Maintains project technical files and update Company standards 12) Performs the inter-disciplines checking for the part of documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section 13) Checks sub-contracted discipline engineering documents in accordance with the scope of piping flexibility section 14) Checks documents issued by piping flexibility engineers 15) Checks the isometrics for construction of critical lines issued by the drafting office 16) Assists P&ID’ section preparation for flexibility inputs of line list 17) Informs on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk 18) Issues the part of the REX in accordance with the scope of piping flexibility section after contract completion

 
 

Piping Material Engineer

Under responsability of project piping and layout lead and of head of piping material section. The engineer material specialist has as a responsibility, within the framework of a contract to ensure the good design of the material of the networks of pipings as well at the technical level as on the level of the cost. Issue technical part of inquiries, bid analysis and order for piping components. Interface with other Piping specialists, project specialists and designers. Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the company.

1) Is responsible for the quality, budget and respect of project schedule for piping material tasks 2) Reviews the Client’s technical documentation and requirements 3) Is responsible for the design of all piping components 4) Issues project piping material specification and piping components data sheets 5) Performs wall thickness calculations of pipes 6) Issues technical part of requisitions for all piping components calls for tender 7) Issues technical bid evaluation for all piping components offers 8) Issues technical part of requisitions for all piping components purchase orders 9) Reviews and approves vendors documents 10) Maintains project technical files and update Company standards 11) Performs the inter-disciplines checking for the part of documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section 12) Checks sub-contracted discipline engineering documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section 13) Checks documents issued by piping material engineers 14) Checks the material take off issued by the drafting office 15) Is responsible for the establishment of the Marian data base 16) Assists inspection department 17) Assists P&ID’ section preparation 18) Prepares mechanical valve data sheets for body of motorized valves 19) Informs on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk. 20) Issues the part of the REX in accordance with the scope of piping material section after contract completion
