Field Engineering Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

Manages and coordinates all engineering matters on a specific fabrication Site As such reports both to Site Manager and Project Enginneering Manager.

 

Professional Skills

1) Participates to Detail Engineering Engineering Phase in perticular for Construction related issues; 2) Prepares the Field Engineering Execution plan and defines the necessary resources . Identifies the planning issues in terms of field engineering; 3) Ensures the interfaces with the Construction team (HSE,Construction Engineering,Site material management,Quality Control,Construction Supervision and Commissionning & start up) and assist it as needed; 4) Manages the site queries including material substitution . Reverts to the Engineering Team when needed for securing the technical answers; 5) Ensures the approval/review of Shop drawings by the subcontractor (or is responsible for the issuance of them for construction sites pertaining to the SAIPEM Group); 6) Ensures the follow up on yard of review/approval of engineering issues by Company,Authorities , Classification or certification agencies; 7) Supervises the engineering document control management on site; 8) Supervises the weight control management on site (if any ); 9) Ensures that the As built documentation to be produced on site is issued; 10) Collects, compiles, complements and analyses the feedback on site (quantities follow up, design enhancements, subcontractor's engineering performance, ........);

Mission Tasks

Manages project engineering activities in accordance with Contract requirements and project objectives for the benefit of the project including the coordination and management of involved engineering centers as applicable.

 

Professional Skills

1) Defines the engineering organisation charts, staffing and personnel roles with engineering discipline departments; 2) Defines provisional manpower histograms and controls the qualification of assigned engineering personnel; 3) Ensures the technical part of the Contract review; 4) Participates to the induction of the engineering team to contract/project requirements; 5) Provides instructions to the engineering team through project engineering instructions and procedures; 6) Ensures the issue, the validation and the maintenance of the project equipment lists and /or other key engineering documents as applicable to each project; 7) Ensures effective interdisciplinary coordination in particular through weekly meetings.Takes the necessary technical decisions in case of unresolved conflicts between disciplines. Controls that the engineering team properly interfaces with other project members; 8) Supervises the issue of engineering deliverables and approves the key engineering documents; 9) Participates to project planning definition by providing engineering milestones and requirements; 10) Ensures that engineering activity is compliant with project milestones . Alerts project management in case of unforeseen variation and suggests if needed mitigation measures 11) Ensures effective technical coordination with Client's representatives and as such participates to good communication with Client; 12) Consolidates engineering budgets based on discipline departments budgets and controls it during the course of the project. Alerts the Project Management in case of variation and suggests if needed mitigation measures; 13) Supervises the initiation and maintenance of project files; 14) Leads and attends the design and safety reviews and supervises the follow up of the outcomes; 15) Contributes to Project reporting for the engineering part (activities, quantities, budget,areas of concern..); 16) Participates to contract management by initiating, collecting and consolidating the variation requests and change orders; 17) Participates to Risk management for the engineering concerns; 18) Initiates Value engineering and best practice; 19) Ensures that the engineering final dossier is properly prepared and filed and that lessons learned for engineering are clearly identified;
