Risers and Flexibles Engineer

 

Mission Tasks

Perform and/or supervise the correct execution of riser design and installation analyses. Learn/improve the knowledge and the use of the available software for riser design and installation analyses. Learn/improve the capabilities in design and analyses.

 

Professional Skills

- Review Client's technical documentation and requirements. - Ensure an adequate standard of technical documentation and contribute in updating Company standards. - Control of subcontracted discipline engineering documents. -Review the Client’s technical documents during the bid phase. - Prepare the design basis/CTR x riser design and interface with the relative process and structures. - Prepare the technical specifications and data sheets for material purchasing and ancillary structures. - Prepare evaluation notes relevant to technical proposals received by suppliers. - Prepare evaluation reports relevant to tests performed by suppliers both during qualification or construction phases. - Assist the riser engineering leader or the project engineering manager for solving technical problems arising during project development and for interfacing/supporting the Saipem procurement department. - Ensure the implementation of the project design changes give to the riser engineering leader the information relevant to the work progress for the preparation of the project control reports. - Optimise the layout configuration of the riser system. - Assist with the selection of laying, installation of ancillary structures and spread/methods. - Perform/verify all discipline analyses and calculation notes required to design the riser system. -Verify and act upon the remarks of the Client/Certifying Body. - Check the engineering activities of third parties/sub-contractors. - Define standards and procedures for the relative engineering area and contribute to software evaluations. - Partecipate at the suppliers qualification process. - Cooperate with the umbelical engineering leader to support the procurement and fabrication activities.

Mission Tasks

Plan, co-ordinate and control the required engineering activities, in accordance with project/client requirements, and optimize selection and usage of internal & external resources, improving efficiency, flexibility & quality.

 

Professional Skills

Planning, co-ordination and control the engineering activities of the department/project -Propose resources for tender/project organization and appoint the selected personnel. -Control the dept. programme schedule of projects. -Overview the engineering activities and provide technical support or direction in solving technical issues to the dept. PSLs or Project Engineer Manager whenever necessary . - Lead the eng. team in the identification of the strategy to develop tesks, of the system configuration and to design the components achieving progress and a satisfactory completion of the tasks within the project constraints -Identify project and contract hot spots and criticalities. -Identify project and activity priorities. -Optimise technical engineering processes to achieve reduced time and costs. -Overview the management of interfaces with other disciplines and with construction/installation activities and drive the team toward optimised cost/effective solutions. -Overview requisitioning and technical bid evaluations. Management of resources: -Develop personnel skills and flexibility through work assignments and responsibility and through attendance at seminars and courses. -Evaluate the personnel performance according to Company system. -Motivate the personnel and support full integration with the Company departments and activities. -Optimise the usage of external vs internal resources (make or buy policy ). -Select personnel if new resources are required. -Advise on Sub-contractors' qualifications. -Provide support for dept. budget estimate, control and forecast. -Approve personnel time sheets and missions. Quality assurance policy: -Contribute to the definition , implementation and improvement of the quality system. -Develop standardisation and procedures for the dept. engineering and coordinate the software validation -Implement and control any preventive/corrective actions arising from audits or certification requirements.

Mission Tasks

To perform all the assigned technical activities within a project assuring also interfaces with the other people involved in the project for the area of competence.

 

Professional Skills

Review Client's technical documentation and requirements. Maintain project technical files and update Company standards. Control of subcontracted discipline engineering documents. Perform the engineering activities related with the assigned scope of work within the project. Ensure the timely availability of the project documents and the implementation of the comments received by the Client. Ensure the implementation of the project design changes give to the subsea engineering leader the information relevant to the work progress for the preparation of the project control reports. Cooperate in the preparation of the operative procedures for the integration and testing of the whole electrical chain with the other equipment of the system. Cooperate with the other specialists for the evaluation of the system performance. Cooperate in the preparation of specifications for subsea electrical chain components installation, test and maintenance. Prepare and issue the final updating of the technical documents for material purchasing. Prepare evaluation notes relevant to technical proposals received by suppliers. Prepare evaluation reports relevant to tests performed by suppliers both during qualification or construction phases. Assist the subsea engineering leader or the project engineering manager for solving technical problems arising during project development and for interfacing/supporting the Saipem procurement department.
